Jongrak and his two brothers (owners of the YouTube channel HanQuocBros) have eaten many Vietnamese dishes, including Hue cuisine, but mostly the versions available in Ho Chi Minh City.
Not long ago, these Korean travelers visited Hue for the first time. On their very first day, they had fascinating impressions of the city. From the moment they landed and took a taxi into the city center, Jongrak chatted with the Hue-native driver and learned many things from him.

The Korean man, who has been living and working in Ho Chi Minh City for a few years, is quite fluent in Vietnamese. He even playfully teased the driver using Hue's local dialect, trying out words like "mo, chi, rua." He praised, "Hue is really charming."
Not only did the driver explain these local words, but he also recommended that the Korean visitors try Bun Bo Hue at street vendors and small eateries for more authentic flavors at affordable prices. The price for a bowl at these small restaurants ranges from 20,000 to 40,000 VND.
The three men chose Bun O Mai, a restaurant located in the heart of Hue. Each of them ordered a bowl for 40,000 VND, squeezed fresh lime, added chili sauce and fresh herbs, and eagerly enjoyed the dish. From the first sip of the broth, they exclaimed, "So delicious!" and praised the crab cake as "truly high quality."

Jongrak, who has tried many places in Ho Chi Minh City, immediately noticed, "The flavor is different, the noodles in Hue are thinner, and the restaurant makes them fresh, which adds to the aroma." As he slurped the noodles, he nodded in satisfaction and said, "Really delicious." The three Korean men were so excited that they held their bowls with both hands and eagerly drank the broth.
After finishing their bowls of Bun Bo Hue, they realized another difference: in Hue, people drink hot tea instead of iced tea while eating. Since the weather in Hue gets colder towards the end of the year, whereas Ho Chi Minh City is always hot, the three Korean men instinctively ordered iced tea out of habit.
"Bun Bo Hue has to be eaten in Hue to taste the best because it comes with the atmosphere, the scenery, the people, and the Hue accent," Jongrak enthusiastically praised.
